Crypts and Wells

In front of the sanctuary, you see the collapsed vault of a larger crypt. Writings of the 18th Century indicate the crypt was used as an ossuary, or "bone room", but this use was probably abandoned at the beginning of the 19th Century. This kind of crypt is typical of its time - even the nearby Sant'Eulalia Church had a similar one. Among the subterranean spaces that remain to be explored is a small crypt below the sacristy to the left at Marker <7> and a well in one of three surviving chapels at Marker <8>.
